Sculptra®, by Galderma Laboratory
Collagen biostimulator from Galderma, of Switzerland. Its active ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid, the same material as the reabsorbable sutures that have been used for decades.
It is injected into the deep layers of the skin, where it activates collagen production. It has been CE marked in Europe since 1999.

These are the instructions Dr. Wohllk gives to each patient.
- Do gentle upward massages at home for 5 days (5 repetitions a day).
- Avoid makeup and creams on the area for 2 days.
- Avoid intense physical activity for at least 2 days.
- Avoid saunas, steam baths and very hot showers directly on the face for 2 days.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and UV rays; use SPF 50 sunscreen.
- Do not have laser, chemical peels, facial cleansing or dermabrasion for at least 28 days.
- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol for at least 2 days.
- Drink plenty of water.
Remember
- The initial swelling and redness can last from 2 days to 1 week; it is normal and varies from patient to patient.
- If you get a bruise, use arnica gel or local cold.
- The number of sessions depends on the initial condition of the skin, age and habits of each patient.
- We recommend coming back within 30 to 45 days.
